Two-way Radio Technician

Role and Responsibilities

As part of the service team, the Radio Technician will perform work on a variety of radio communication systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair two-way radio’s including Motorola and LTR Trunking systems, wide area coverage systems (i.e. Voting systems), Bi-Directional Amplifiers, Paging Systems and Motorola and Zetron Console Systems.
  • Diagnose and repair systems to include but not limited to VHF, UHF, 800 and 900 MGZ analog and digital infrastructure, mobiles and portable subscriber equipment.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic and analytical tests.
  • Complete system programming following industry practices.
  • Familiarity and use of manufacturers programming software and IBM compatible computers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Electronics, FCC General Radio telephone Operators License, ETA-I Certification, CET, R-56 or Wireless Communications Certifications or equivalent industry certification or willing to become certified as a condition of employment, and/or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to read work orders, instructions, and schematics
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Physical requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, WAN/LAN technologies for networking, routers and switches.
  • Experience using test equipment, such as Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, RF Gen.
  • Experience with wireless equipment i.e.: base transmitters, antenna systems, microwave networks
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with attention to details, complex problem solving
  • Must possess excellent time-management and strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain organized while handling multiple projects/tasks
  • Professional demeanor and excellent work ethic, proficient in customer service
  • Ability to work a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Must possess a clean background and valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

  • Tasks require the ability to exert physical effort which may involve lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing and/or pulling of objects, walking flights of stairs carrying equipment, climb step ladders, drive in high traffic areas as well as highway travel, work on rooftops. Upper body strength and hand manipulation for use of power tools.

Sales Representative

Prospect new business opportunities selling communications equipment with potential customers through cold calling, telemarketing, provided leads, networking and client/associate referrals. 

  • Provide accurate price quotes in a timely manner to customers
  • Achieve monthly and yearly quota requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge base of entire product line
  • Attend industry and product related training programs, conferences
  • Work closely with inside sales to assure customer satisfaction and business accountability
  • Work to build long term relationships with customer base
  • Maintain an organized and easily accessible filing system as well as updating company database
  • Work to establish add-on business with existing customers
  • Perform other duties as required, to maintain departmental operations and services

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Previous sales experience with the ability to succeed in a competitive environment
  • Degree in marketing and/or business management or equivalent experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong closing and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor both on the phone and in person
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Ability to remain organized while handling multiple projects/tasks
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record a must

Physical requirements:

  • Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight.
  • Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds.
